Booking

Appointments can be made by calling the Northern Visa Medicals bookings line on 0161 272 5895.

When calling to make a booking please be prepared to provide the following information:

• Name, address, date of birth, e-mail address and telephone number of each person attending.
• Current passport number for each person.
• Identification number if you have lodged your visa – this will be a HAP number.

Your Visit

You will need to bring with you:

• Your original passport.
• Copies of up-to-date hospital reports/letters concerning any significant health issues from the previous 5 years, if relevant.
• Prescription glasses or contact lenses.

Following completion of your examination and receipt of the test results, your documentation will be submitted electronically.

The Medical Examination

The medical examination is non-invasive, and a chaperone is available on request. The medical involves the applicant being undressed down to underwear whilst covered with a modesty gown.

Most applicants aged 11 years and over require a chest x-ray.

Most applicants aged 15 years and over require a blood test.

Permanent

Aged 15 and over [incl.HIV / eGFR/CXR] = £370

Temporary

Aged 15 and over [incl. eGFR/CXR] = £335

Permanent or temporary medical for medical, dental, nurse practitioner or paramedic [incl. HIV / Hep B / Hep C / eGFR/CXR] = £425

Child aged 11 – 14 [incl. CXR] = £230

Child aged under 11 = £100

Medical examination / eGFR = £240

Chest X-ray only = £140

IGRA blood test for TB= £110

Hepatitis B blood test = £50  [For clients aged 15 and over from countries where there is a high incidence of Hepatitis B as determined by the Australian government]

Payment is accepted by debit/credit card or cash.

Fees are inclusive of all basic investigations required. In the event of any additional medical information being needed, there may be additional costs incurred.
